Was about to post this updatein the "What you doing" thread and saw this one. So timely.

Just finished laying the tile. Tomorrow I clean it and grout, Saturday - seal and install the door.

I am guessing I "saved" $10,000 - but for the work I did, can understannd how that is earned. Didn't do the full bath - shower and window only, plus "unexpected" including a trip to an urgent care facility for 3 stitches when pulling the tiled ceiling down and the crowbar slipped and my glasses frame cutting me.

Estimating I have about $1500 in. Took down to bare wall and it includes...
1. new window
2. new fixtures
3. removed poly pipes and replaced both the shower and toliet line with PEX. Will do others later (future projects) and fully convert the hous to PEX.
4. Exteroir wall framing was randomly placed scraps by the prior installer.Framed appropriately in 16" centers and added insulation that was totally missing.
5. Removed old cast iron drainand luckily the pipe was PVC
6. Hardibacker board three sides and ceiling, butelected not to tile the ceiling
7. Tile, thinset, and grout really add up.
8. Drywall the ceiling and repaired the transitions in the walls.

Unbelivable abount of worksover the past month.
