Come away from the Run of the mill big names. Look to Colnago-Cervelo-Pinarello-BMC-Orbea-Etc. As a price to spec comparison they may be a bit pricier but as several of us have found out they do give a better ride.

My Colnago is not their most expensive model. In fact, it is the only HM carbon model that has a compact/relaxed geometry and is the least expensive of their HM carbon bikes. But what a fantastic ride. Since I bought it, more people have come up to me and asked about my bike simply because it is a Colnago. No one ever came up to me and asked about my Defy. The MUP's that I ride at are over-crowded with Treks, Specialized, Giants and Cannondales. I have only seen three non-vintage Colnagos since buying mine and one belongs to the guy at the bike shop where mine was purchased. Another big plus is that it won't be too hard to find if it were ever stolen.
