I'm 52 and have 3 bikes (so far). My all time favorite bike for running errands of any long distance (18+ miles) is my 2010 Trek Allant WSD. It has 21-gears and can get me up the hills while carrying cargo and/or towing a trailer, without me killing my knees.

So far the Allant (I call her Olive) has taken me on 30-mile errands over paved, dirt and gravel roads, and handled it very well. For all the grit and grime I put her through she is holding up beautifully.

Great looking bike! I really like the front rack, too. However, I was looking for an internally geared hub and a bike w/ a chainguard. I don't think I saw the allant anywhere, most shops had the sedona.
