You may want to consider another wheelset that you could swap out. A commuter wheelset doesn't have to be anything fancy, just durable. Put good commuter tires on them and leave your race wheels/tires for racing and club rides. Believe me, changing out tires every Friday and Sunday night will get old (although you'd be the club champion at fixing flats on the road).
