Trangia alcohol stoves can be speeded up by using their winter adapter that warms and accelerates the gasification of the alcohol. The 50 year old version I have is merely a thin brass plate with a shallow area where a wicking material absorbs the preheating alcohol and clips under the burner. It has worked well these many years. I have yet to time the boiling time. I am never in that much of a hurry.
