I have a pair of Performance Traverse shoes. I consider them to be touring shoes, although they are marketed as MTB shoes. I wear them with SPD's, but you can leave the cleat cutout installed, and they have a nice grippy sole. Good compromise between cycling and walking performance. I've always felt sure footed with them. They do seem sized a touch small. My size 43's were a little snug until I got a couple hundred miles on them. I recently installed some elastic sports laces to keep from having loose laces near the chainrings. Until I got those, I just wrapped a small velcro band around them and tucked the loops into the shoes.
