Teaser pics. So much for keeping the maker a secret since anyone looking at the URL will be able to ID the frame. So, without further ado, these will at least show what's ahead of me:
There's rust, but I also think some of that rust-color may be the primer - it looks suspiciously like that old-school rust-red primer I've seen lurking below the surface of a number of Italian frames' paint from the 70s and early 80s.
OTOH, it could end up like the seatstays on
shnibop's Colnago Super
For the money, I figured I could roll the dice. What the hell, right?
Anybody care to take a stab at a year? Personally, I find it interesting that the stay caps are fluted and plain. I've only seen Guerciottis with plain
flat caps - or fluted and
engraved. Braze-on gear lever bosses, but no brake cable bosses. Top of BB shell gear cable guides and what looks to be fairly-nicely-finished BB shell; I've seen some horrendously-finished Guerc BB shells.
This is going to be fun!
