Help me pick a bike!

So for the last 20 years I've been riding a Casati Monza with Columbus SL steel tubing. It has the first generation Camp Chorus Ergo Power group (bought the grouppo in 1993) and only it's second wheelset. I raced it(and crashed it) for 12 of those years and have ridden it off and on over the last 8 years. On my last ride the rear ergo lever finally gave out. Also the ride before a spoke just broke off the rear wheel. So it seems it's time for a new ride.

Not a clue what to get. I have a little over 2000 to spend. I'm thinking that price puts me in something with carbon and probably Shimano 105 components but I'd love some recommendations.

Also, I'm sort of anti-aluminium but I'm open to suggestions if there is something out there comparable to carbon.
