Was watching Stage 11 race coverage last night when my 12 y.o. daughter decided she wanted to watch...and she really seemd to get into it (but it might have been a ploy to extend bedtime).
She had some amusing questions and comments:
"This is called the Tour de France? I thought it was the Tour de Ferb....from Phineas and Ferb"
"Do they sing when they ride?"
"Would you be in last place if you were riding with them?" (When I told her I wouldn't even be able to see last place from where I'd be, she didn't believe me...and told me I could probably beat all of them!)
"Why do people get in front of them? Do the riders ever knock them over?"
And this series of questions when I told her the race leader wears the yellow jersey: "Why is that guy wearing the yellow shirt...he's not in the lead? Shouldn't he give it to the other guy? How do they switch it while they're riding? Do they have more than one yellow shirt?"
In the end, she enjoyed watching, and was very impressed that
PR won after falling.
