Wow I guess I missed the boat on that one. I had dreamed up something like that after reading about the steri pens. It seems like a great idea for some applications. Probably not necessary or effective for most bike tours though. BTW the time to purify could be cut drastically if the layer of water was thinner. Of course that cuts capacity for the given area.
