We ride steep back roads quite frequently. My wife claims that she never uses the 52 tooth ring on her road triple, but she often finds herself in 1-1 spinning her way up hills. She already has an 11-32 rear cassette. Her bike is a Cross Check we put together. I swear I've seen touring bikes running MTB crank sets. I expect to have to buy a new derailleur just to match the chainring arc. So basically will a brifter pull a MTB front dérailleur correctly for the spacing on a MTB crankset?
