Schwinn 1989 World Sport worth it?

Hi guys -

I'm looking to buy a decent, used roadbike in New York that I can use for commuting as well as crosstraining for my running. I don't have a lot of money to blow so I'm not looking for anything extravagant at the moment. I had a 70's Schwinn Le Tour that was just too damn heavy, so I'd like something a bit lighter.

Any thoughts? Keep in mind it's NYC so everything is marked up (this is actually on the cheap end of bikes).

UPDATE: Looks like it might be the '87 since it's a 10 speed http://bikecatalogs.org/SCHWINN/MODE...d%20Sport.html
