Doc, you've been agonizing these decals for awhile. The Super Sport is a unique bike. Why would you put the wrong decals on it when the correct SS downtube decal is readily available? I think the 2 orange SS's you've found are understated and pretty cool just the way they are. (IMO the Clubman seat tube decal borders on garish)
But it's your bike and yes you can re-restore it again later. No, you won't be put in jail. Good luck.
