I love looking at people riding Harleys. They're gorgeous machines. They sound nice. But hate riding them. The laid back position is just not me.
I felt the same way about crotch rockets. I tried one twice and hated them. The ones I rode didn't have flywheels and it was hard to maintain a constant speed. The bike was either speeding up or slowing down. Anyway, after dropping a bike on the freeway I really wasn't into speed anymore. I just wanted to enjoy the ride. I love the seating position on a Harley. To me, it was very comfortable. Also, I loved the feeling of torque that a Harley produces. It is like having a big block V8 in a car. I remember going on a ride to Big Bear with two other guys on crotch rockets. They were constantly shifting on the 8000 ft climb and I didn't shift even once. If I was ever to have another motorcycle again, it will be a Harley. However, my motorcycling days are over.
