chain rubbing front derailleur cage

I'm stuck on how to solve a problem in having with my caad 10. When in the small chainring, largest cog on back (and a few cogs down from that one for that matter), the chain rubs on the inner inside of the front derailleur cage that guides the chain. I have set the inner screw to its limit (turned screw counter clockwise), and it still allows chain rub. Is the front derailluer installed incorrectly if it won't even allow me to set the inner limit screw to fix this? My 5 year old 9 speed doesn't even have this issue! Its a braze-on derailluer, not a clamp style. I wonder if I just need to adjust how its attached to the frame?
