If you're flipping between the 705 and 800, go for the 800 every time. 705 is EOL, so no new software development. 705's control stick is far slower for some inputs than the 800's touch screen. 705's CPU is far wimpier than 800, for which I've had Garmin reboots while my wife's 800 never gives up. I wish I had justification to replace my 705 with an 800.
