I had MOTs done on my BSA Bantam and Triumph Tiger 90 back in the late 60's/early 70s - don't think I had much trouble getting them passed. Biggest problem was getting the Bantam started on damp days and losing oil from the the Triumph (if there were no drips on the ground under the crankcase, it was out of oil). Here in Ontario we have to have emissions tests once in a while but no mechanical/safety test.

As to my MOT, staying off medication so far and still able to cover a hilly 100k bike ride in reasonable time, so I'm happy.
I also live in Ontario, but too far North (not that far North), and we don't need to pass an emissions test up here....
