January is not the rainiest month in lower mainland BC, and it really depends. Some years are rainy ... some aren't. The average is about 18 days out of 31 with some sort of precipitation.

As for the length of days, as you know, you're not going to find long days anywhere in North America, but the day length is improving by then.
