Bottom Bracket woes..

Here's the situation:

New bike, 250 miles on it. (Giant OCR)

Out for a ride on Saturday, stood up on a climb, and the chain "slipped" hard, 1/4 of a rotation.
Remainder of the ride, when shifting to a smaller cog, the chain would hesitate (a few revolutions) before changing.

Towards end of ride, there was a noticeable "skip" when pedalling smooth circles, and the chain would occasionally skip as well.

When I finally stopped, the cranks/bottom bracket were very noticeably loose.

LBS took a look at it, removed BB, thought it looked ok, put it back and tightened everything up.

On Sunday, I went out for a ride, and within a mile, it was skipping again while pedalling smooth circles and making very loud, unnatural noises when I stood up on a hill...in fact, any serious amount of pedal pressure and it was making loud "clunks" on the downstrokes.

I'm about to bring it back to the LBS. Should I be expecting them to replace the BB? Repair it?

Any thoughts greatly appreciated.
