Ouch! That was me at Rainier in 2010. No fun. It happened to me on the second lap that day and I threw in the towel (happy not to have to go up that hill again).
Fortunately, The gouge in my seat stay is minor. The RD and chain were a total loss, but my wheel rebuild was cheap due to outstanding customer service from my wheelbuilder.
