Lost a Good Friend

I got a call this morning from Liz, her husband and my friend, Joe, passed away early this morning from a torn aorta. He was 61 with no signs of poor health or heart problems in his family. Joe was a kind man with a wry sense of humor and generous to a fault. I especially enjoyed the fact that he always paused to think before answering a question or offering an opinion - almost the complete opposite of my natural inclination. When we first moved into the neighborhood he noticed my bikes and was eager to go riding with me. Our first ride together was one of the most memorable rides I’ve ever had. We hit it off immediately, and after 40 miles it seemed like we had known each other for years. I’m going to miss him a great deal.

Whatever it is for which you have a passion or have been “meaning to do”, do it today. There might not be a tomorrow.
