I have been car-free for several years now, well over a decade if you count the years when my only transportation was motorcycles. I still have two motos in the carport, but neither is roadworthy and I don't have the money to fix them.
I keep thinking I really should sell them, but can't quite bring myself to do it.
As for being carefree, I suppose I was born that way and never grew out of it.
I assure you I am very much car free and female. "Folder Fanatic" & the avatars was chosen for being a gender neutral (and more friendly in the process for both genders). I just don't dwell on being female in the sense that it makes me very different from men in choosing to be car free. I am just being me! I do like the way bicycles allow me to venture outside without the need to drag along a male escort at night.
