Getting ready to lace up a 6V Shimano LX dynohub for my commuter (a Cross Check) . The bike is fendered but rackless currently. I'd like to do a fork crown mount for the front for now. I may add racks in the future though, so versatile mounting options would be good. I'd prefer seatpost mounting for the rear for ease of rear rack installation/removal and not having to mess with fender-routed wiring out on the road. Eventual front rack would probably be a rando-style deal - Nitto M12 or VO equivalent.
Most of the riding will be in-city so good "be seen" with good standlights is important. I've looked at some beam pattern pictures and such, but I can't say I'm enough of a light nerd to tell the difference, and riding down really pitch black roads will be pretty rare. Good side visibility for the rear would be great.
This combo looks promising, although shipping to the US is kind of beastly.

This does too for a front but the configuration seems less ideal for mounting to a rando type rack.
