The most important measurement when it comes to bike sizing is your inseam: the length of the inside of the leg. It is not uncommon for two people of your sizes (5' 4" and 5' 10") to have practically the same inseam. It's the inseam that determines how high the saddle should go above the bracket.

Other measurements to take into consideration is your arm (and torso) length to determine the frame length.

A proper tandem dealer will look at all these details and find the best tandem size for you two. Good luck!
