Yeah, I noticed that also.

I believe all the AlumiTechs had internal cabling up until the 1400. They finally changed it because of cracks in the aluminum where the cables entered the tube. I'm still guessing this is a Miyata, and it might just be a later 1400. The head tube, especially where the head badge would go looks exactly like mine and the seat stays are also a match. I will have to check mine with a magnet to see if my chain stays are steel. The catalog says my bike should all-aluminum, except for the alloy fork, but who knows, mine is also all pearl white, and the catalog doesn't show that it ever came in that color even though all of the 1400A's I've ever seen are all-white. Your is a re-paint, right?
