could be any number of reasons. hell, i spent a year and $2200 to restore and build up an utterly pristine Eddy Merckx 7-11. Then I hardly ever rode it because i didn't like the geometry (too low and aggressive) and also because i was worried about scratching it up. So I ended up selling it at a $400 loss. c'est la vie, i guess.
