Make a 2007 Stumpy lighter, or trade?

I've ridden dirt bikes or mountain bikes all my life, even used to win some races. I'm 68 now, 145 lbs. but in very good condition and I love to push myself, fast as I can go on local trails, no drop offs, no jumps (I know how, but can't take the risk on an old spine), many tight and open curves, some fast-fun downhills, perhaps 100 yds long. Many roots, logs I ride over now instead of jump or hopping.
My '07 Stumpy Elite is a great bike, but I'd love a bike with a bit shorter wheelbase, and much lighter, since my weight and style put no real stress on a bike. But I'm not in the loop as to what bike would fill that need.
My 1999 FS Stumpy feels great, and I ride it faster ( it's lighter, 3" shorter) BUT the rear does not have enough shock travel to protect my spine.
Know any bikes that might do that for me?
OR, for $1K or a little more, how could I remove 3 lbs from my 2007 model, or is it possible?
Thanks for any info
