I just noticed that Dawes Wendy appears to have Schraeder valve stems along with 700x28c tires. That sucks, now I have to look for and buy specific tubes for this bike instead of being able to share tubes between this and my road bike.

hmmm, bikesdirect says that has HJC DA14 rims, this is the only catalog page I can find on those,

(bottom right corner)... that shows those as 14mm ID, 19mm OD. but doesn't say what valving.
shraeder valves would be a pretty big hole in a 14mm wide rim
