OX Platinum tubing was designed for road bikes when everything started going aluminum and the proponents of steel (Reynolds, True Temper, Columbus) wanted a frame that was light enough to keep up with the aluminum stuff but still retained the ride quality of steel. Given the choice I'd take Columbus over any steel on the market, but as of yet I don't think there are any BMX frame makers who use the stuff.
