Last year I decided I had enough time away from my two young girls that I could start cycling again.
i contacted an old friend of mine to ask him to refurb my old Schwinn so that I could start riding again.
Unfortunately he found the headtube cracked when he was in the process of stripping and cleaning it.
As a replacement for the time being, we got a Surly Pacer frameset and swapped as many of the components over as we could.
So now I have a functional bike again, I just don't know what to do with this old Schwinn frameset.
any suggestions?
This also brings up another question I have had recently.
Is 4130 the new Hi-Ten?
heres what I mean:
With the advent of newer tubesets such as 853 has 4130 been relegated to the "Gaspipe" status?
This of course comes from my Surly Pacer frameset. Did I downgrade from the Schwinn frameset to the Surly one?
Any thoughts?
