I can top that: an ad for a Peugeot, they had the handlebars all jacked up, 35mm tires, really not a presentable bike. Turned out to be a '73 PX-10 that had Campy Record/Champion wheelset with a terrible Shimano Eagle (with integrated hangar) crammed on to the rear DO. I bargained him down to $20, took that bike home hooting all the way!
P.S. I spent more than $300 getting it back in rideable condition and sold it for a loss...doh!
