oops, I was looking at that Origin8 bike, which looked like a WallyWorld special...
anyways, yeah, vbrakes are easy to setup, but you should verify the rim is straight and not going side to side more than a tiny bit. make sure the brake cable isn't hung up on something, and if everything else is kosher, you tweak the little black screws near the pivots to center them. you adjust the brake pad angle and alignment with an allen wrench. if you bought this at a proper bike store, for sure, go on back, they should give the bike a once over and tweak anything thats off. sometimes wheels need a bit of retruing after they've been ridden a few dozen or 100 miles.
