Maybe we should have a poll about what people think of others who say "could care less" rather than the correct "couldn't care less".
Anyway, the only time I've heard "cali" is in a rap song. I do think "OC" and "SoCal" seem fine. When I moved here the thing I thought was odd was that all the highways began with "the". I-35 in Austin is called "I35", not "the thirty five".
