Instead of buying a new Crankset I actually just took a Deore LX M563 crank off my old univega Alpina, and replaced the Suntour XCT V2. The XCT V2 was around 1103g, the Deore LX is 696g. I shaved almost one whole pound off the bike by just removing the crappy SR Suntour cranks. They are steel chainrings, and riveted so you cant change the rings, next up is putting on a air fork and getting rid of the LAST Suntour parts that are on the bike the XCT V2 fork.
