I rode a while back my cousin's olcv bike like this one 10 years ago as well as his giant mcm team, despite being light and fast mtb cross country carbon race frames, they were too stiff and really uncomfortable over the long run for me. My favorite frame on a MTB I have ridden was the Kona Explosif which was made in Reynolds 853 steel, very nervy and comfy frame. The bike was as light as an alumnium MTB and it was a fast riding bike.
I am presently in the process of building up an Explosif... the frame is incredibly light and it will be getting a Project 2 rigid fork and some XT / XTR bits... should be a screamer.
