BTDT. There is no cure. They are all different - we have 14, and have had many more in the past. You just have to remember that you gave Lil Kris a good home and that she probably lived much longer than if you had not taken her in. So you enriched
two lives - hers
and yours. So you eventually get another, but it will
never be a
replacement, but rather another soul that you'll cherish just as much, and you'll be that much richer of heart for the experience.
