i meant to add that in. crap it's been a longer couple of weeks. I dont think i've ever needed 5.4x w/kg in a race. in our races we max out at 5-10 minute hard efforts. A pro level race is so difference you're doing .98 if for the last hour of a 6 hour race. I dont think i normally have a .98 hour in any race (i would be otb so fast in a uci race, basically 2 hours in when they felt like pushing the pace).
also these pros are over 5.8 week after week after week. After my peak for nationals i was fried. I raced poorly for the rest of the year, and it took me nearly a month to get the last of my 2 upgrade points after gettting over half in a series of three weeks.
