my personal experience is that a "couple" of times is putting it mildly. i tend to tinker with my seat position every few weeks when i ride 5-6 days a week. i'll put about two weeks in, decide it could be a little better, shift it back, change the angle, shift it up, all that stuff over a few days, then ride for a couple more weeks and repeat. i've hit a point now (after 2 months of continuous riding) where it all seems to be great. so lots of adjusting is a good thing, at least for me
