Interesting read, even if it is crap. If I were commuting on my bike I may not wear lycra shorts and a jersey, but I don't commute on my bike, unfortunately. I ride to exercise and because I like to. How would this guy feel after doing a century wearing his nifty, stylish, new jeans? Sweaty? Chaffed? This person obviously doesn't understand that it is about comfort on the bike. I see lycra shorts, a fitted jersey, and "funny clip on shoes" as part of the gear used in the sport. Nothing more. I'm sure many agree with that too. What if this guy wrote the same article, but directed it at football? Football helmets and tight, padded shorts are not cool, so they will be wearing Levi's and wool beenies instead. Forget function, lets look fashionable instead. Give me a break.....
