You mean the ones where you had to pedal downhill into stiff headwind, or the ones where descents suddenly turned into 10% climbs? Vistas were good though.

I was hurting pretty bad the first 10 miles, not sure why. Headwind is usually demoralizing and my legs weren't doing too good. Things got better around the turn to highway 166. The stretch up on highway 33 was fun, got some tailwind, ran into some guys from Chula Vista going about my pace, didn't even notice how we got to 3700 feet. Final time, not great, but at least I made it!

Also, I'm definitely keeping the 42/28 crank.

BTW, stop 2 wasn't doing too good as far as restrooms went either. There was one unmarked restroom, there was a line and I heard that the toilet wasn't flushing. I saw more than one guy sneak out behind the building and come back a few minutes later.
