I was just outside of the 3 km mark, just after Camp Juniper, with uspspro and ruthness. We scoped out our spot Friday afternoon, and we were able to ride up to the summit. But on race day, we could only go to just after the 2 km mark, right by the Summit Trail. They had a bike valet, where you had to hike the rest of the way, should you choose to go up there. We had an excellent viewpoint of the climb before Camp Juniper, and then saw them as they passed us after Camp Juniper.
