I second that.

You'll inhibit the breathability of the leather and render the teflon lining (gortex) useless.

Gortex is touted as a beathable and waterproof teflon material. It's pores are large enough for air molecules to pass but smaller than water molecules.

I'm working on my third pair of all leather Vasque boots with a gortex liner. I have never water proof treated them. I have walked in water below the upper cuff and I've never wetted out the inside.
