Er...that Tommasini thing again......
Wow, do things get in the way. Since my last posting in 2010 about my Tommasini, my wonderful wife has been SERIOUSLY sick, however things are on the mend...so back to the bike.
I've conserved as much as I can on the bike and as you can see its lovely, if a bit abused (last owner - not me). Three problems for me though for which I need your help.
1 - Rear mech is a sodding pain. As I power-on the pedal, the cage really seems to flick about along the axis of the bike. I think the whole mech is worn and a not square to the chain axis. I am an engineer, but I'm not an expert in mechs.......
2 - Are hub cups a bind to replace? - the front hub feels awful even with new balls.
3 - I'm in two minds about selling it. All hills where I live and my knees are feeling the pinch. If another mech works, It may be a case of that bloody formula about how many bikes do you need? (you know, the "n+1" thing)
Thanks for your help in the past too. (Sold my 1999 Veloce Bianchi last year through necessity (use of, and space) I miss it.
