I live in CT's town with the largest percentage of it's land in agricultural use. We have exactly one intersection with a blinking light. Every ride I take in town (it's also CT's second largest town geographically) is similar to the one you just had. It's a beautiful thing and I am reminded of a survey of CT towns in which residents were asked to list their favorite places in their town....no one mentioned a mall.
