This is just an opinion which is what you asked for. I don't like bikes with suspension forks, there is no need for those forks unless your going to be pounding off road stuff, plus they add considerable amount of weight to the bike. The Ridgeback's Reynolds 725 tubeset would be a lot more durable then aluminum found on the Boardman as well. Combine that with the classic good looks and the only bike I would consider of the two would be the Ridgeback of course.
