It's the straight/top part of the ULock that clips into this mount correct? Are you supposed to mount the lock upside down? With the U fed through the two support bars that are part of the seat?
It hangs down between the main seat tube and rear chainstays. behind where you sit. I never had mine hit my leg, tire or be a problem at all. You slide the strainght part of the lock into the holder, then the U part through the frame and lock it. It could go behind the rear chainstays too. Heres a picture of where I kept my lock on the frame as mentioned.



Check out this new Trek Soho, look at the cool lock mounting spot, the lock just drops in the bar hole area.
