Removing a Front Derailleur with a Stripped Bolt

I'm upgrading an old SRAM 5 front derailleur and the mounting bolt just spins and spins. The head of the bolt is fine, but as a good chunk of this cheapie FD is plastic, I have a feeling the bolt is OK but it's stripped the part it's stuck into.

I'm familiar with the "Easy Off" type drill bits, but it looks like those are needed when the head of a bolt or screw is stripped. Would I/could I use a product like that in this case, or is there a better method?

The FD can be destroyed, so preserving the part is not a requirement.
