I rarely, if ever, step into an LBS anymore...I have all the gear I need for all types of riding and 3 bikes....also have a local guy who works on my bike as needed out of his basemetn, has 3 kids, not a great job and could use the extra $$$. I usually hit the LBS if it's an emergency repair, etc.
There are at least 5-6 LBS close to my house or work that I could go to...all are locally owned and have great service.....biking is really picking up steam here.
