I have an old mountain bike and the rear brake cable appears to be rusted through and needs replaced.
My problem is when shopping for the parts needed I can't seem to find a cable with what I want - I perhaps just don't know what the part is called.

This is not my bike, but is a picture I found of the same 'splitter' (?) my bike has. When looking for a cable I just seem to keep finding the curved noodle variety instead of this. If my bike has one of the above will I be able to fit the more modern curved noodle? If not what is it called that I should be looking for?
