Tubes are stretchy, so an exact match isn't required. A 700x37 will be a good match, although some people will deliberately run slightly narrower tubes for easier installation. Anything down to 30 will do fine. Up to 40 should be equally doable.

Keep in mind that 700C = 622 mm = 28".

Odds are exploding tubes are more a sign of poor installation technique rather than actual tubes being bad. Get a bit of tube trapped underneath the bead, and explosive failure is guaranteed.

I've happily used tubes from just about any brand that I've stumbled across, and I couldn't give you a favourite if my life depended on it. Schwalbe, Geax, Conti... Once out of the box I can't tell them apart.
